What preparation covers, who helps, and how timing is decided.
Learning has room for questions
Preparation covers Scripture, the Creed, the sacraments, prayer, and Christian moral life. Meetings are usually combined with participation in parish worship and community life.
People to walk beside you
A sponsor accompanies the person during preparation. A godparent supports an adult at baptism and afterward. The parish explains eligibility and can help identify someone suitable.
Readiness is personal
Preparation has no universal fixed length. The person and parish team consider readiness together. Finishing an online course does not establish readiness for baptism.
